How should I sleep during the first week after my hair transplant? +

Sleep with your head elevated at 45 degrees using pillows for the first 7 days. This minimizes swelling and protects the transplanted follicles. You should sleep on your back only - avoid side or stomach sleeping to prevent rubbing the recipient area.

When can I wash my hair after the procedure? +

You can start gentle shampooing on day 3. For the first week, use only the provided medicated shampoo and gently pat dry - never rub. After 2 weeks, you can resume your normal washing routine and return to your preferred shampoo.

Is it normal for transplanted hair to fall out? +

Yes! This is completely normal and expected. The transplanted hairs will typically shed between 2-4 weeks after the procedure. This doesn't mean the follicles are lost - they're just entering a resting phase before new growth begins at 3-4 months.

When can I resume exercise and physical activity? +

No strenuous exercise for the first 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, you can do light exercise like walking. After 4 weeks, you can resume most activities, but avoid contact sports or anything that might hit your head for 6-8 weeks.

What should I do if I experience swelling? +

Mild swelling is normal for the first 3-5 days. Keep your head elevated, apply cold compresses to your forehead (not directly on transplant sites), and take prescribed medications as directed. If swelling is severe or persists, contact our team immediately.

When can I wear a hat after my transplant? +

Only wear loose, non-restrictive hats for the first 2 weeks - nothing that presses on the transplant sites. After 2 weeks, you can wear regular hats, but still avoid tight-fitting headwear for at least 4 weeks to protect the new follicles.

Can I go out in the sun after my procedure? +

Avoid direct sun exposure completely for the first 2 weeks. After that, use a strong SPF 50+ sunscreen or wear a hat when outdoors for at least 3 months. Sunburn can damage the healing scalp and affect results.

How often will I have follow-up appointments? +

We typically schedule follow-ups at 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, and 12 months. International patients can have virtual follow-ups via video call after returning home, or visit any of our 30+ Chinese clinics if they're traveling in the country.
